John was the founder and Managing Partner of Sadd-Higashi-Shammaa, AC from 1989 through the end of 2009 when he merged his firm with the Velazquez firm. John has provided business planning, tax planning & preparation, financial statements, auditing, computer consulting, and other services as required. John has served a range of clientele in real estate, manufacturing, non-profits, and other service industries. Previously, John was a Partner in the firm of Brotemarkle & Sadd, where he started as a Junior Accountant in 1973. John is a graduate of California State University Los Angeles. John has been a speaker in numerous presentations to business, educational & professional groups covering tax and accounting matters. John resides in Glendale where he lives with his wife, Suzi, and they are the proud parents of Louie and Danielle.
Michael Velazquez

Michael is a 34 year veteran of the profession. Since 1992 until the merger with the Sadd firm in January 2010, Michael founded and ran his Accountancy, Tax and Consulting practice, Velazquez & Associates, Inc. in Glendale, California, providing services to business owners, real estate investors, professionals and non-profits. Michael also founded US Wealth of California, LLC, providing wealth management services to many SVHS clients. Mr. Velazquez is a graduate of the University of Miami Business School, and conducted post-graduate studies at Inter-American University. A partial list of past employers includes Arthur Andersen & Co., Chase Manhattan Bank, & MCA Inc. Michael is fluent in Spanish & has appeared regularly on radio and television, speaking as an expert on tax and financial matters, and has been the author of several articles in both English and Spanish. Michael resides in Glendale with his wife, Mercy, and they have three children, Michael, Gabriel and Tatiana.
Kirby N. Higashi

Kirby N. Higashi joined the legacy firm of Brotemarkle & Company in 1980, and has practiced accounting in the Los Angeles area with the firm since graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from California State University at Dominguez Hills. Mr. Higashi provides a wide range of services to individuals and small to medium sized businesses. Clientele includes businesses in wholesale and retail sales, entertainment, manufacturing, construction, medical, real estate, legal, non-profit organizations, and other professional services and industries.

Nassif E. Shammaa joined the legacy firm of Brotemarkle & Sadd in 1995. Nassif is a graduate of Arizona State University School of Accounting. Mr. Shammaa was formerly employed in the banking industry. A partial list of past employers includes California Federal, Home Savings and Countrywide Lending. Mr. Shammaa is a QuickBooks instructor, teaching classes at SCORE-LA, a nonprofit organization affiliated with the Small Business Administration. Nassif resides in Glendale with his wife Randa and children, Nour and Elias.
Robert C. Jelin

Robert has been a partner in the legacy firm of Sadd-Higashi-Shammaa, AC since 2003. Previously, Robert was a partner in Jelin & Marcus Accountancy Corp. Robert saw active duty in the Navy and received and Honorable Discharge in 1970. He graduated from Cal State Northridge in 1973 with a BS degree in Accounting. Robert has been practicing public accounting in Glendale for over 35 years. His specialty is individual and business tax preparation, and accounting for small to medium businesses. Robert also has experience in trusts and estates.
